That&#039;s exactly how it felt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It all started with a knock on the door the day before yesterday. The UPS delivery guy was standing there with a black box, carried right up to my front door. No note in the mailbox, no trip to a delivery agent \u2013 just a package that came all the way home. I was really happy with how easy it was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I carried the box to the kitchen table and opened it there, because I like to unpack things like this in peace and quiet \u2013 and with the camera running, because I had a feeling it would be nice. Under the lid was my new Tesla Wall Connector, which I have now named Walle, and the first thing I thought was that it doesn&#039;t look like a charger at all. The white glass front shone against the dark cardboard like a piece of jewelry in a box, and I just looked at it for a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before I decided, I had of course looked around at all the most common home chargers. Zaptec Go, which wins test after test and sells the most in Sweden, Easee, which sits on every other house wall, Charge Amps with its Swedish design, Garo, DEFA. And do you know what I came up with? They are all good. That&#039;s not where the difference lies. The difference lies in how the charger fits into your life \u2013 which app you want to live with, whether you want the cable fixed in place or loose in the trunk, and how everything connects with what you already have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For me, the answer was simple. I drive a Tesla, the app already lives on my phone, and this box has the cable permanently attached \u2013 7.3 meters, with a small button on the handle that opens the car&#039;s charging door. One of those details that no one brags about but that makes the whole movement a single flow: get home, lift the cable, click, done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now it&#039;s on the kitchen table waiting for its electrician, and I&#039;m walking around thinking about which wall it should live on. At the same time, I&#039;m curious. On paper, it can handle up to 22 kW, but that&#039;s a maximum, not a guarantee \u2013 what it actually provides here at my house is determined by fuses, phases and what the car itself wants to accept. And I want to know if it keeps what the white glass front promises: to sit there stably, winter after winter, and just do its job without being noticed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#039;m going to find out. I&#039;ll come back with real numbers when it&#039;s been up for a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Smart living isn&#039;t just about what&#039;s charging in the garage.
