WWDC is a few weeks away and rumors are pouring in — but these aren't just any rumors. They're about how we're actually going to live with our phones going forward.
Mark Gurman, who follows Apple more closely than most of its own employees, reported this week that iOS 27 will get a dedicated Siri chat app. Not an update to the old Siri. A completely new entry. And it'll live in Dynamic Island — the little pill-shaped area at the top of your iPhone screen that most of us still don't really use to its full potential.
I stopped when I read that. Not because it's technically amazing — of course it is — but because it means something concrete in everyday life. It means Siri stops being a voice you talk to in the car and starts becoming something you actually talk to, for real, during the day.
What is Siri 2.0 exactly?
We've been hearing about AI assistants for years now. ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot — the list goes on. But what makes Apple's move interesting isn't that they're first. It's that they have access to your entire ecosystem. Your calendar. Your photos. Your messages. Your music. All that stuff that's already on your phone, collected, and now processed by an assistant that actually understands context.
Gurman writes that Liquid Glass — Apple's design language — isn't going away, but that it will be tweaked in macOS 27 to work as it was always intended. It sounds like Apple is finally ready to deliver on what they promised when they launched it.
And that's what makes this fall exciting. It's not a new chip or a new camera lens. It's a new way to move through your day using your phone.
How do I plan to use it in Amaelle?
I've thought about this a lot. Amaelle is based on a flow through the week where each day has its own character, its own energy, its own task. Thursdays are already the day I set aside for technology, tools, and smart solutions — not for the sake of technology, but because the right tools free up time and thought for what really matters.
If Siri 2.0 truly delivers on the promise of contextual understanding — if it can actually say “you have a meeting in an hour, do you want me to remind you of the pattern you were doing?” — then it’s not technology anymore. Then it’s part of the flow.
I'm skeptical in a positive way. I've seen enough Apple keynotes to know that the gap between promise and reality is sometimes yawningly wide. But this feels different. It feels like they finally understand what we want — not more features, but more fluidity.
Liquid Glass and why design actually matters
One thing I didn't think I would care about, but I actually do: Apple's design decisions affect how we feel when we use our phone. It sounds vague, but it's pretty concrete.
When an interface is intuitive, when it moves naturally, when it doesn't require you to think — then the friction disappears. And friction in digital tools is like a little pebble in your shoe. You don't always notice it's there, but you're a little more tired at the end of the day.
Liquid Glass is Apple's answer to that. Transparency, depth, movement that feels natural rather than mechanical. In macOS 27, it's going to be even more refined. I'm looking forward to it more than I care to admit.
WWDC — what I'm watching
Aside from the Siri app and Liquid Glass updates: I really hope they take iPad productivity seriously. That's the one area where Apple still feels half-baked. An iPad Pro with an M4 chip running apps designed for an iPhone — it's like having a professional sewing kit and only using the needles.
And if they really do launch a dedicated agent store for AI apps, as is also rumored — then this is starting to look like something transformative. Not because AI apps are magical, but because a curated selection from Apple means a quality assurance that the App Store never quite managed.
There are three weeks left. I will follow every leak.
What are you most curious about ahead of WWDC — Siri, the design, or something else entirely?

iOS 27 and Siri 2.0 — This Will Actually Change Your Feed There’s something happening at Apple right now that I can’t help but follow closely.
