Free Friday — The best travel companions have four paws

Some Fridays I think about freedom in a slightly different way.

Not the big dramatic kind.

Without the simple one.

A car.

A way forward.

And two little dogs who think every trip is the world's greatest adventure.

Traveling with a dog changes the way I move through the world. I stop more often. I see forest paths, small lakes and cafes where suddenly there is a water bowl in front of me before I even have time to ask.

The pace becomes slower.

In a very nice way.

Pu and Noa remind me of that all the time. Their curiosity never ends. A new scent, a new place, a new patch of grass — and suddenly the day feels like a little adventure.

But when we travel with a dog, there is one thing that is more important than anything else: safety.

In Sweden, dogs must be transported safely in the car.

This means, for example, a dog belt, harness or transport cage. Not just for the dog's sake — but for everyone in the car.

A loose dog can become dangerous during sudden braking.

It's a small habit that makes a big difference.

And here's something many dog owners don't know:

💡 Did you know that?

Tesla has a special Dog Mode.

When activated, the temperature in the car is kept stable and the screen displays a message so people outside can see that the dog is doing well while you are away for a short while.

A small but very smart feature for those of us who travel with dogs.

For me, Free Friday is often about this.

Not to stress.

Not planning every minute.

Without just being on the road together.

The best trips often include some muddy paws, curious noses, and a few unexpected stops along the way.
