There's something special about booking time that's completely dedicated to creation.
Not an hour here and there.
Not “if I have time”.
Without three whole days.
And when I saw that SewHack 2026 Borås opened their courses and workshops… then what always happens happened:
I wanted to do everything.
What meets you – and what is not immediately visible
Because on the surface it looks pretty simple:
A list of courses.
A list of workshops.
But you quickly realize that this is something different.
For example, there are courses such as:
- The overlock driver's license (yes, I'm registered... and yes, it feels both edgy and fun)
- Two-day bra courses from both B.Wear and Make Bra
- Dress and tunic projects from Nuppu
- Bags and accessories from Orkidédesign and others
- Machine knowledge via JL Sycenter
And already here it starts to become clear:
👉 This is not a “try-on”
👉 This is real knowledge
The workshops – where the details happen
Then come the workshops.
And this is where it gets really interesting, I think.
Because here you will find things like:
- Sew the front pocket and fly via The Pattern Factory
- Hand sewing techniques from Vesala Tailoring
- Summer skirt with SVP & Boujeethrifter
- Toiletries in recycling from SVP & Soli Maker
- Cases and bags from Clever
This is something that is often difficult to learn on your own.
Small details.
Technician.
The kind that makes the difference between “homemade” and “well thought out.”.
And in the midst of all this…
...you have to make a decision.
Which courses?
What times?
What is crashing?
What is worth the price?
What is included?
And this is where the problem arises.
Not because the supply is poor – quite the opposite.
But because there is a lot.
This is where I lost the flow.
I sat there with:
- multiple tabs open
- different times in the head
- prices a little here and there
- uncertainty about materials
And what first felt inspiring…
started to get messy.
Not difficult – but fragmented.
So I did the only reasonable thing.
I built an overview.
Not advanced.
Not “nice first”.
Without functional.
A compilation that has it all:
✔ Courses
✔ Workshops
✔ Times
✔ Price
✔ Materials (when indicated)
✔ Possible collisions
And suddenly...
...everything became clear.
This is where the difference arises
Because when you see everything at once, something happens:
You start planning instead of reacting.
You can:
- spread out energy throughout the day
- avoid double bookings
- choose consciously
And above all:
👉 you maximize your experience
The exhibitors – what you shouldn't miss
In parallel with the courses, there are also the actors behind them.
And it's worth saying:
This is not just “selling”.
This is knowledge in physical form.
For example, you have:
- Underwear specialists (B.Wear, Make Bra)
- Creative pattern makers (Nuppu, Pattern Factory)
- Technically knowledgeable actors (JL Sycenter)
- Craft-oriented designers (Orchid design, Vesala Tailoring)
- Recycling and creativity focus (Soli Makeri and others)
This gives the event several layers:
👉 You learn
👉 You are testing
👉 You are inspired
👉 You understand more than before
And the people
This cannot be written without mentioning it.
You meet people who:
- sew
- builds
- thinking in solutions
- see details
And that creates a rather special feeling.
Not a “wow event”.
Without:
👉 belonging
My plan this year
I have chosen several courses.
I have spread them out.
I have built a flow that lasts.
And I look forward to:
- my overlock driver's license
- new technical level
- three days of focus
And perhaps most importantly:
👉 to be in this fully
That's why I'm sharing my overview
Because I know that more people are sitting there right now thinking:
“How am I going to get this together?”
So I'm sharing my compilation.
Not because it's perfect.
But because it is useful.
Do you want it?
I'll post it on amaelle.life.
So that you can:
✔ get an overview immediately
✔ plan smartly
✔ avoid collisions
✔ create your own three days – for real
